30 Poems in 30 Days #6 – Wordless

Sometimes nothing needs to be said
It all comes out anyway in the end
Sometimes a silent breath says it all
The lump in your throat before the fall

We stand staring into ourselves
The real part hidden away on the shelves
We can’t believe what we’ve become
Hiding, lest our facades be undone

It matters only in our own heads
We’ll keep our secrets until we’re dead
