I Saw Him

I Saw Him

My screams fall upon deaf ears
As I sit wailing yet again

Tears burning blazing trails
Down my ashen cheeks

I am tired of telling the same story
Over again

I have grown dull and weathered
Having lost my luster and shine

I have become breathless
From tirelessly trying to convince
Every arrogant emissary
Of justice they send my way

They are not saviors
They are harbringers of my own destruction
Personifications of a reality I try not to accept
That I shall never have
What little respite I seek

So has it been
So shall it be

So I now sit silently
Having given my testimony
Waiting to be told again
That I must have imagined it
Imagined him

I know what I saw
