Paint Me a Portrait – Thirty Poems in Thirty Days #23

If you’d like to read more of my work, check out my poetry ebook here on amazon.

Paint Me a Portrait

I say to the artist
His bleeding brush in hand
Show me the colors
You see upon me

Paint me as I am
Show me how far I stand
From that vision
I wish to be

Paint all my chipped edges
Unfinished curves
Blurred lines
Broken corners

Paint, I say!
As I weep in remembrance
Of the person I was
And in mourning
For the person I am to become

Show me what you see artist
Let your feelings of me run
Onto the canvas before you
Paint me a portrait
