A Warm Winter Night – Thirty Poems in Thirty Days #6

If you’d like to read more of my work, check out my poetry ebook here.

A Warm Winter Night

Sheltered inside
From the frost of the snow
Here, the shadows abide
Cast by the hearth’s warm glow

I sharpen my knives
Each stroke marking the flow of time
I listen to the orchestra of her mumbled cries
As the clock strikes a quarter of nine

On this warm winter night
