The Things That Used to Matter – Thirty Poems in Thirty Days # 11

I’m doing a month of poetry, one new poem each day for thirty days. Here’s number eleven of thirty.

The Things That Used to Matter

A puddle
Reflecting the waning
Moon above
Troubled
By the still
Air that is hanging
In the steely night

Disturbed
By the hurried footstep
Of a night marked by
The constant feeling
That she could be next

The puddle sends waves
Skywards
Turning the moon into a shattered
Shimmering emblem
Of all the things
That used to matter
