Cloud Gazing

It’s not like you don’t know
what clouds look like
drifting hand in hand
slowly shifting like your mood

I don’t need to tell you
the power they have
the audacity to cheer you up
But this one
god
you should have seen it

It looked just like my ex’s ass

The Stars

The stars are shining bright tonight
On this most memorable evening
I sip the wine in my chalice with delight
As it drips from the end of my chin
I send silent prayers to a silent kingdom above
They will not be heard or answered
This much I have come to know
I keep drinking and spiraling
Being pulled by the fires below
The precarious of peaceful times
I am perched on a fence bordering destruction
Such is the dance I carry out
Under the stars
