The Fall

Years rush by
Suspended in memories
Like grounded butterflies
They sit trapped in their boundaries

I hear a hushed baby’s cry
As the ground approaches below
I will not even try
To overcome what I already know

Try to deny
Impact approaches faster
Accept the decree from on high
You succumb to disaster

It’s the ripple’s infinite ring
The siren’s endless singing
This is the descent into madness
The final stand of final resistance
